StorageGuide v2.2.0
This release adds configurable client visuals, a subtle held-item status indicator, and an in-game operator settings workflow.
Client settings and Mod Menu
- Added an optional Mod Menu configuration screen.
- Added persistent client settings in
config/storageguide-client.json. - Added configurable colors for located-chest highlights, successful held-item lookups, and missing or incompatible lookups.
- Added RGB sliders, live previews, hexadecimal labels, individual defaults, and a complete reset option.
- Added an option to disable the held-item hotbar status.
- Mod Menu remains optional and is not required on dedicated servers.
Subtle held-item status
- Pressing
~now briefly recolors Minecraft's original selected-slot texture to show lookup status. - The indicator appears only when the held-item locator is used; it is not continuously visible.
- The original vanilla texture shape and placement are preserved, including resource-pack styling.
- The configured color is blended with vanilla white for a clean, subtle result.
- Status lasts 2.5 seconds and blends smoothly back to normal during the final 600 milliseconds.
- Switching slots, selecting an empty slot, hiding the HUD, entering spectator mode, or disconnecting cancels the status immediately.
- Successful status means the selected item has a configured destination.
- Missing status means it is unassigned or incompatible.
- Empty shulkers use their exact color assignment.
- Non-empty shulkers succeed only when all non-empty contents resolve to one configured chest.
Operator settings
- Added an in-game server settings screen.
- Added
/storageguide settingsand an Operator Settings button in the client configuration screen. - Operators can enable or disable the sloppiness detector through the GUI.
- Server settings remain server-authoritative and permission-checked.
- Non-operators can open a read-only version of the menu.
- Permission explanations, save confirmations, and rejected updates now appear inside the menu instead of StorageGuide chat messages.
- Unsupported menu features are guarded by networking capability checks.
Networking and rendering
- Added dedicated payloads for requesting, opening, and updating operator settings.
- Added permission and status information to operator-menu responses.
- Added a client GUI mixin limited to the vanilla selected-slot sprite draw.
- Used Minecraft's native sprite tint path rather than drawing an additional border.
- Kept world-highlight colors on the shader-compatible native gizmo renderer.
Documentation
- Expanded the README with Mod Menu installation, client visual settings, operator settings, hotbar behavior, and troubleshooting.
- Added detailed maintenance and verification notes to the handoff.
- Added a complete
v2.2.0entry toCHANGELOG.md.
