The server reports itself how many players it has. We do not take its word for it — we compare it with how sessions behave and subtract everything that does not look like people.

What we checkThe daily rhythm of online, session length and repetition, nickname matches, the reaction to a wipe.
What we do not discloseThe exact thresholds. Otherwise fake online would be tuned to them.
How oftenBusy servers are polled once a minute, the rest once every 15 minutes. Verdicts are recalculated every 10 minutes. Minute samples are kept for 8 days, hourly and daily rollups longer.
What we sellOnly a labeled placement above the results. Online, rating and the seal are not for sale.

We show only real players
Busy servers are polled once a minute, the rest once every 15 minutes, and checked against 17 signals. Everything that looks like bots, mirrors and farms does not make it into the results.
