Classic GUIShop

A familiar shop for your Minecraft server

Bring the classic chest shop experience to Fabric, with a ready to play vanilla shop, a built in economy, and a visual workbench for making it your own.

Whether you're running a small community SMP or building a shop for your modpack, Classic GUIShop gives you a comfortable place to start.

Players can use the shop without installing the mod. Administrators install the same JAR on their client to use Adminshop. Server permission is required, with OP level 2 as the default. Singleplayer is supported too. For singleplayer commands must be enabled to access adminshop.

Ready to play

A fresh installation starts with a Full Vanilla Normal preset, including vanilla items, enchanted books, potions, and tipped arrows. The economy is included, so you can start using /shop without setting up a separate currency mod.

Left click to buy and right click to sell. Both prices appear on the item, while enchanted books, potions, and tipped arrows are grouped into easy to browse folders.

Make it your own

Open /adminshop or press F8 to design your shop in game.

• Create categories and choose Minecraft item icons.
• Browse a creative style item picker, or add the exact item you're holding if somehow it wasnt detected.
• Set individual prices or update a whole category with Bulk Adjust.
• Drag listings into place using Arrange Mode.
• Customize names, descriptions, currency text, and messages.
• Review your layout in the shop simulator before saving.

Your edits stay in a draft until you save them. Automatic backups and Change History help you keep track of changes and revisit earlier configurations.

Choose your starting point

Start with Normal, Hard, or Easy presets for a full vanilla shop with the buy and sell ratios scaling with what difficultly you choose. Another preset option is The Basics for resources and crafting materials, or use Blank Shop to build from scratch.

Normal targets a 30% sell return, Hard 10%, and Easy 95%. Some items have lower returns to prevent profitable crafting loops or "Exploits". You can preview a preset before applying it, and import or export your own presets to share with other server owners.

Vanilla pricing accounts for crafting, brewing, processing, and common item crafting. The optional Villager Trade Loop Fix, enabled by default, adjusts eligible villager trades to help prevent shop resale loops, including trades on existing villagers. This loop fix can be disabled and reenabled while the game is running at any time. The idea here was to maintain the vanilla feel of the game when it comes to Villager trading, while also protecting a server economy.

Give players more ways to earn

Enable the shop modes that suit your server:

• Passive Income: a little income for time spent playing.
• Cash Mobs: rewards for eligible mob kills.
• Advancement Hunter: rewards for completing advancements.
• Warrior Mode: PvP rewards with configurable deductions and safeguards.
• Mishap Charge: an optional charge when a player dies.

All modes start disabled. Choose your payouts, timing, chat names, and colors, then combine modes however you like.

Keep an eye on your economy

Browse player balances and transaction histories in Adminshop, with readable activity descriptions and dates shown in your local timezone.

Trending shows the top 20 items being purchased or sold. Select an item to see which players are trading it, making unusual activity easier to investigate.

Administrators can also set balances or reset an account through confirmation dialogs. Trusted voting or reward services can credit known players through the console only /shopreward command, with protection against duplicate payouts in the event of a failed reattempt.

A place for your modpack

Detected Content lets you browse registered modded items and supported datapack content, then import a whole source into its own category.

Imported items start disabled at Buy 0 / Sell 0, giving you time to review and price them. Exact item variants keep their custom data. Modded prices and custom datapack mechanics are yours to balance for your server.

Getting started

1. Install the latest Fabric Loader on a supported Minecraft version.
2. Put the Classic GUIShop JAR in your server's mods folder, or your instance's mods folder for singleplayer.
3. Start the game or server and use /shop.
4. To edit /shop listings or access the adminshop, install the same JAR on your client and open /adminshop or press F8 while being OP on a server or with commands enabled on Singleplayer

Required Fabric API modules are bundled. Other mods still need their usual dependencies, and custom item models need their matching resource packs.

Version 1.4.2 uses one Fabric JAR covering 23 Minecraft releases, from 1.20.1 through 26.3. See the Versions tab for the complete list. Each Minecraft version accepts its supported minimum Fabric Loader version and newer. Exact Loader and Java requirements are available in the installation guide.

This mod will be updated with major minecraft updates. Just poke me in discord if its been a while since the last release and I will give it attention.

Adminshop requires permission from the server. It uses OP level 2 by default and offers optional Fabric Permissions API compatibility for servers using a compatible permission provider.

Updating an existing server? Back up the entire config/guishop/ folder with the server stopped, and update the server and administrator clients together. Your saved shop and balances are preserved; new presets are applied only when you choose them.

Useful commands

Damaged item sales and optional enchanted equipment valuation are configurable in Economy settings. Server owners can also control shop access and public visibility of operator balances. Allowing players on your server to see how much money other players have as well as a leaderboard.

Why I brought it back

I missed the familiar chest shops from the Bukkit days and wanted one for my own little community server. That idea grew into Classic GUIShop, built with AI assistance and shaped through hands on testing and feedback. From friends and others looking for the same thing.
