Freshness

A lightweight mod that adds food spoilage mechanics to Minecraft. Every perishable item has a limited shelf life — keep an eye on your supplies before they go bad!

Features

  • Food spoilage: All food items gain a production time and will eventually rot
  • Customizable shelf life: Different item categories have different expiration times

    • Meat: 7 days
    • Crops: 15 days
    • Other perishables: 20 days
  • Rotten items: Expired food turns gray, cannot be eaten, and cannot be used in crafting
  • Tooltip info: Hover over items to see shelf life, remaining days, and rotten status
  • Creative mode support: Items from creative inventory automatically get freshness data
  • Configurable via tags: Add any item to perishable categories using freshness:meat_food, freshness:crop_food, or freshness:perishable tags

Compatibility

  • Built for NeoForge 1.21.1
  • Supports vanilla and modded items through tags
  • No dependencies required
