🔑 Keychain — A Better Way to Manage Minecraft Accounts

Switch accounts instantly. Keep your data private. Stay in the game.

Keychain is a lightweight, open-source Minecraft account manager that makes switching between Microsoft and offline accounts simple, secure, and convenient.

Manage all your accounts directly inside Minecraft through a clean, intuitive interface. No restarting the game, no repeatedly opening your launcher, and no unnecessary complications.

Built with privacy, security, and usability in mind, Keychain gives you control over your Minecraft accounts without sacrificing convenience.

✨ Features

  • ⚡ Seamless Account Switching — Switch between saved accounts without restarting Minecraft. Access Keychain from the main menu, pause menu, or multiplayer screen.
  • 🌐 Microsoft Account Support — Sign in through Microsoft's official authentication page in your browser, with support for standard verification methods.
  • 👤 Offline Accounts — Create and manage offline profiles with custom usernames.
  • 🔒 Encrypted Account Storage — Keep saved authentication tokens protected in an AES-256-GCM encrypted vault.
  • 🎨 Skin Previews — View account skins, including an interactive 3D player preview.
  • 🔍 Easy Account Management — Search, filter, sort, favorite, and organize accounts however you prefer.
  • 🔄 Automatic Session Refreshing — Keep Microsoft sessions up to date and refresh expired tokens when necessary.
  • 🛡️ Server-Compatible Switching — Rebuild account-related services, including chat-signing functionality, when switching identities.
  • ⏳ Safe In-Game Switching — Switching while connected to a world or server is queued until you disconnect.
  • ⚙️ Customizable Experience — Configure interface buttons, account preferences, and optional shared account storage across Minecraft instances.
  • 🌍 Multiple Languages — Available in English, German, and Turkish.

🛡️ Privacy & Security

Your accounts belong to you. Your data should stay under your control.

Keychain is designed to minimize unnecessary data collection and protect sensitive authentication information.

🔐 Encrypted Local Storage

Microsoft authentication tokens are stored locally in an encrypted vault using AES-256-GCM. The encryption key is generated randomly and stored separately from your Minecraft instance.

On supported Windows systems, the key is additionally protected using Windows Data Protection API (DPAPI).

🌐 Secure Microsoft Authentication

Keychain uses OAuth 2.0 with PKCE to authenticate Microsoft accounts through your default web browser.

Your Microsoft password is entered directly on Microsoft's official website, never into Keychain.

🚫 No Tracking or Analytics

Keychain does not include built-in analytics, advertising trackers, or a developer-operated account synchronization service.

Network connections are still required for Microsoft authentication, Xbox and Minecraft services, session refreshing, and loading Minecraft skins.

💾 Local-First Account Management

Your saved accounts remain on your computer. Sharing account data between your own Minecraft instances is optional, and Keychain does not require a separate developer account.

🔓 Open Source & Transparent

Keychain's source code is publicly available on GitHub under the MIT license, allowing anyone to inspect how authentication, account management, and encryption are implemented.

Privacy note: Local encryption protects against accidental exposure of copied account files, but cannot guarantee protection against malware or someone with access to your running computer.

🚀 Getting Started

  1. Install Fabric Loader and Fabric API for your Minecraft version.
  2. Download Keychain and place the .jar file into your Minecraft mods folder.
  3. Launch Minecraft and open Keychain using its in-game button.
  4. Add a Microsoft account through your browser or create an offline profile.
  5. Select your account and start playing!

Your saved accounts are available directly inside Minecraft whenever you need them.
