Works both in the game and on the server — install where you need it
ViaRewind
ViaVersion addon to allow 1.8.x and 1.7.x clients on newer server versions.
Runs on 1.9-latest servers or 1.8 clients and lower.
You can override the included version in ViaFabric or ViaProxy:
- in ViaFabric, put ViaRewind into the
modsfolder - in ViaProxy, put ViaRewind into the
jarsfolder
Requires Java 17. See here how to update your installed Java version. As a last resort, you can download Java 8 downgraded builds from our ci.
Requires ViaVersion and ViaBackwards to be installed..

How to install ViaRewind?
Install Fabric for your Minecraft version, download ViaRewind for the same version and loader, put the file into the mods folder and launch the game with the loader profile.
Which Minecraft versions does ViaRewind support?
ViaRewind has builds for Minecraft 1.7.10–26.3.
Is ViaRewind needed on the server?
Works on either side — install it in the game, on the server, or both
