Tempestra

Tempestra is a fully client-side visual overhaul that makes Minecraft's lightning more natural, dynamic, and visually impressive.

Instead of vanilla's simple lightning bolts, Tempestra introduces irregular, branching strikes that arc through the sky, bringing a new level of atmosphere to thunderstorms while preserving Minecraft's familiar Vanilla+ feel.

⚡ Lightning, Reimagined

Every lightning strike is generated differently, making thunderstorms more varied and exciting to watch.

• Natural & Dynamic Lightning — Thin, glowing bolts with irregular, curved paths that make every strike unique.
• Branching Lightning — Lightning can split into additional arcs, creating more intricate and dramatic strikes.

Tempestra is designed as a lightweight visual enhancement that fits naturally into Minecraft.

• Client-side only — No server installation required, making it suitable for both singleplayer and multiplayer.
• Vanilla+ Friendly — Keeps vanilla weather mechanics intact, making it a natural addition to survival, atmospheric, and fantasy modpacks.

For an even more immersive thunderstorm experience, I recommend pairing Tempestra with these mods:

• Particle Rain — Replaces vanilla rain and other weather effects with beautiful particles, adding more depth to the atmosphere.

• ImmersiveThunder — Adds dynamic thunder sounds that change depending on the distance between the player and the lightning strike.

📥 Installation & Supported Versions

Tempestra officially supports Fabric and Quilt on:

• Minecraft 1.20.1
• Minecraft 1.21.1
• Minecraft 1.21.11

Installation

1. Install a supported version of Fabric Loader or Quilt Loader.
2. Download Tempestra along with its required dependencies, Butterfly API and Fabric API, using versions compatible with your setup.
3. Place the downloaded .jar files into your Minecraft mods folder.
4. Launch Minecraft and enjoy!

Unofficial NeoForge Port
